Allcomer Saloons and Historic Super Sedans

Advanced Adhesives

This class has been formed to bring out the Historic Super Sedans from the 60’s and 70’s and later model V8 cars that do not fit the Muscle Car regs. By limiting cars to the configuration they raced in 15 years ago we hope to avoid cheque book racing and cars being continually updated but still retain the popular all comers idea and provide some racing for some exciting cars that are not quite fast enough to foot with the newer machinery but don’t fit into the current historical and classic classes

The first year will see two series, one during the winter series with HRC and ACC

And 3 rounds at Hampton downs with the new Super Tourer Class

Another innovation is prize money, $10,000 is up for grabs in the final round of the Super Tourer Meeting

1 .Cars must comply with Schedule A Motorsport Manual no 34 and updates

2 .Cars must be 15 years or older

3. Only saloon cars and GT 2 door hardtops ( detachable hardtops not accepted

4. Cars may not be changed from the configuration they had from 15 years ago

5. No electronic engine management unless it was fitted to your car 15 years ago

6. No supercharging ,turbocharging or changing cast iron heads or blocks to alloy unless fitted to your car 15 years ago

7. Cars will accepted by the committee on an individual basis for the series and some proof may be required to justify the cars current spec

8. Rounds will consist of 3 races of 1 scratch and 2 handicap races. Breaking out of handicap time by 5% will incur 45 sec time penalty

Advanced Adhesives Allcomers Saloons & ACES +

Newsletter 1

Welcome to our first newsletter for the exciting new classes, Advanced Adhesives Allcomers Saloons and ACES+

Advanced Adhesives Allcomers Saloons will bring out the Historic Super Sedans from the 60s & 70s and later model V8 cars that don't fit the current Muscle Car regs. Cars are limited to the configuration that they were in 15 years ago (to avoid cheque book racing), but also to feature the original Allcomers concept. Check out the regs on www.grandprix.org.nz/allcomer-saloon-cars.wse

ACES+ is a great series for people who want racing with a minimum of panel damage in a relaxed environment. You don’t need the fastest car to go racing in this series, just a keenness to participate! ACES+ has a time zone cut-off to keep the costs way down, so Pukekohe is 1.16 and 1.23 for Hampton Downs. Cars going faster than the cut-off will not get points for the race and if they are continually going under the time cap, it is probably best for those cars to move to a faster class.

The Winners of the Inaugural Winter Series Are!

Advanced Adhesives Allcomers Saloons:
1st: Roger Conder
2nd: Aaron Clarke
3rd: Howard Falconer

ACES+:
1st: Graham Ball
2nd: Martin Day
3rd: Peter Ball

Cups and medals for the Winter Series and Summer Series podium winners will be handed out at the Motorsport Club prize giving in late May.

Now We Have the Summer Series!

The Advanced Adhesives Allcomers Saloons that are pre 1985 can also participate in the extremely popular NZ Festival of Motor Racing in the Pre 85 Open Saloons & GT class on the 20-22 and 27-29 of January 2012. This event can also be entered on www.motorsportentry.com.

Points will be allocated to the first 3 races for each class as follows:

1st = 30 points, 2nd = 26 points, 3rd = 23 points, 4th = 21 points, 5th = 20 points,
6th =19 points etc. An additional 5 points will be awarded for finishing and 1 point for starting.

At the final round at Hampton Downs, double points will be awarded for all 3 races. This meeting will also be the Dash for Cash Meeting. Advanced Adhesives have put up $10,000 prize money for Advanced Adhesives Allcomers Saloons at this meeting.
