Welcome to the Historic Racing Club Inc.

We are a club for owners of F5000, Can Am cars, Indy cars and Formula Pacifics, we also actively encourage races for all Historic Racing cars. We also want to encourage more high profile Classic Meetings and will actively seek entries from Australia, USA, and UK. HRC will also arrange for NZ cars to travel overseas to meetings like the Sandown Meeting.

The policy of the HRC is to work closely with other car clubs on a ongoing basis to encourage a united Historic movement throughout New Zealand.

Our aims are to preserve and promote the sporting fellowship of drivers and owners of single seater, sports racing cars and production Sports & GT cars modified with period modifications. The HRC Inc is affiliated to Motorsport New Zealand Inc and abides by their rules and those of the Federation International de l'Automobile.

Many of us have racing cars that we want to "exercise" more often than at present and we want to race with Historic and Classic cars from the 1977 era. There will strict adherance to Schudule K Regulations. Historic Single Seaters and Sports Racing Cars will keep to the Period Classifications of cars. Formula 5000's, Formula Pacifics and Sports Racing cars will be kept separate from the earlier, smaller engined single seaters.

The HRC Inc holds the track licence for the new motor racing complex at Hampton Downs www.hamptondowns.com

The Historic Racing Club Inc is proud to announce

THE BRUCE McLAREN FESTIVAL

TO BE HELD IN

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND

JANUARY 2010

In 1970 New Zealand’s Bruce McLaren died in an accident at Goodwood, UK, while testing his latest Can-Am sports racing car in preparation for the 1970 Can-Am series of races to be held in USA and Canada. Forty years later, to mark the significant contribution made by Bruce to international motor sport, the Tasman Revival Series 2010 will feature the ‘Bruce McLaren Festival.’

The Tasman Revival Series 2010 ( www.tasmanrevivalseries.com )  featuring the Bruce McLaren Festival will be held over consecutive weekends.

First Event
The first event will be the’ Tasman Revival 2010 - Hampton Downs Classic’ to be held at the new 3.8 km international Hampton Downs Motorsport Park’s new track www.hamptondowns.com over the weekend Saturday 16th/Sunday 17th Jan 2010.
Hampton Downs circuit is located on State Highway One, 60 km south of central Auckland and 70 km north of Hamilton.

The Bruce McLaren Festival
Following the Hampton Downs Classic, the next two weekends will see the staging of the ‘Tasman Revival 2010- The Bruce McLaren Festival’. The Festival will be a tribute to the late Bruce McLaren - see www.bruce-mclaren.com

Second Event
The first weekend of the Bruce McLaren Festival will be run at the Hampton Downs track from Friday 22 Jan 2010 until Sunday 24 Jan 2010.

Third Event
The second weekend of the Bruce McLaren Festival will be run at 2.8km track Pukekohe Park Raceway from Friday 29 Jan 2010 until Sunday 31 Jan 2010.
Bruce McLaren won the 1964 NZ International Grand Prix at Pukekohe driving a ‘works’ Cooper Climax racing car. The Pukekohe race track is located in the township of Pukekohe some 56 km south of central Auckland.

Fourth Event
The final event in the Tasman Revival 2010 series will be the ‘Tasman Revival 2010 - Taupo Classic’ to held at Taupo Motorsport Park over the weekend Saturday 6 Feb 2010/Sunday 7 Feb 2010.

We are expecting a large number of McLaren cars from overseas with a number of owners already confirming their attendance. After the successful Tasman Revival Series 2008 which featured the opening rounds of the International Formula Junior 50 th Anniversary Celebrations we also expect a large number of Formula Junior Cars to compete in the Tasman Revival Series 2010 as well.

With Formula 5000 going from strength to strength in New Zealand we will be guaranteed a large field of F5000 cars along with Historic Formula 1 cars from the same era in the Tasman Revival Series 2010.

Both of the Tasman Revival Series 2010 events will be promoted and run by the Historic Racing Club (HRC) Incorporated. The HRC has a long & proven reputation for running successful Historic, Classic and Marque Motorsport Events.

If you are interested in these events during the New Zealand summer while the Northern Hemisphere shivers please register your interest on our website www.tasmanrevivalseries.com or email info@brucemclarenfestival.com

Bruce McLaren Trust

The Bruce McLaren Trust welcomes the invitation by the HRC Inc to be part of the Bruce McLaren Festival 2010. The Trust will be keen to see a large number of McLaren and other cars that Bruce was associated with come "home to New Zealand"

As guardians of New Zealand’s Motorsport History and Heritage, the aims and objectives of the Festival are very much in line with the Trust objectives to promote in perpetuity the memory of Bruce McLaren, and to own, restore, and display McLaren cars.

Linking past present and future is always a priority for the Trust and it is exciting for the Trust to be associated with the Festival.

This will be one of first major events to be held at the new Hampton Downs race track and complex. Bruce was associated with the build of Pukekohe back in 1963 – this is history repeating itself for the Trust to be involved with this new era. I urge you to visit www.hamptondowns.com to view what this large project will do for Motorsport in New Zealand.

For further information on the work of the Bruce McLaren Trust log on to our website www.bruce-mclaren.com.

I look forward to seeing you in New Zealand at the Tasman Revival Series 2010 Bruce McLaren Festival.
